William Wayne Stewart

MATTHEWS, NORTH CAROLINA

William Wayne Stewart, age 77, of Gastonia, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, at Matthews Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

William was born on January 12, 1949, in Iredell County. He was the son of the late Carl D. Stewart and Ollie Brown Stewart.

A devoted father and grandfather, William found great joy in playing his guitar, composing, and singing religious songs. He was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

William is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Case Stewart; two daughters, Tara Boothby and her husband Wayne of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Amber Lambert of Woodleaf, North Carolina. He leaves behind five grandchildren: Cory Kerley, Makenzie Cassels, Sydney Boothby, Olivia Koontz, and Gray Koontz, as well as two great-grandchildren, Lyla and Rhett Kerley.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
