Cornelius, North Carolina
February 16, 1947 - April 03, 2025
Clarence Turner Stimpson was born on February 16, 1947 to Clarence Stimpson, Jr. and Elizabeth Glenn Long in Statesville, NC.
Turner received his formal education at Pfieffer University in Misenheimer, NC. He furthered his education at Wake Forest Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education in Winston-Salem, NC.
He was employed by Stimpson Hosiery Mill, where he helped run the family business. Then later in life, Turner found a new career caring for Seniors at the Pines at Davidson Assisted Living Facility. Whether employed or not, Turner never stopped caring for people.
In his leisure, he enjoyed watching (and for much of his life, often attending) Tar Heel Basketball and Football games. He was also an avid Cubs fan - and yes, that even included sticking with the team during the more than century-long drought prior to their winning the World Series again in 2016. Turner's love for sports - the Tar Heels, particularly, was passed on to his son and granddaughters, one of whom is now a first semester sophomore at Chapel Hill.
Clarence Turner Stimpson departed this life on April 03, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Mickey Stimpson; brother-in-law, Lee Seagraves; father, Clarence Stimpson, Jr.; and mother, Glenn Long Stimpson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Clarence Michael "Stimpy" Stimpson; granddaughters, Callie Elizabeth Stimpson and Gracie Leigh Stimpson; sister, Susan Stimpson Seagraves; brother-in-law, Ray Jumper; sister-in-law, Sandra Jumper; a nephew, two nieces, many loving cousins, and his beloved partner, Kathy Peticca.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Cremation Society of Charlotte Chapel, 4300 Statesville Rd. Charlotte, NC 28269.
