Steven David Rhyne, 68, passed on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Steven “Steve” David Rhyne, 68 of Mt. Holly passed away January 19, 2023 peacefully at CaroMont Medical Center with his family by his side.

Steve was born February 3, 1954 in Gastonia, NC to the late Jerry David Rhyne and Patsy Foster Rhyne.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly Harris Rhyne.

Steve was an awesome father, loving brother, and proud papa.  He loved spending time with his family, vacationing and going on road trips together and never passed up a good yard sale or antique store.  He had a love for (being out on) the water, fishing and a sunset cruise.  In is downtime he enjoyed his recliner, a good Western, and drinking his Coke.  Steve had the ability to make anyone smile and could always rattle off a funny pun or joke about anything, even up to his last hours with us.

Those left to honor Steve’s memory include his 3 daughters: Adrianne (Nick) Abernathy of Mt. Holly, Elisha Rhyne of Sarasota, FL, and Ashley (Jake) Brant of China Grove.  He had one granddaughter, Malorie Abernathy of Mt. Holly and one sister, Renee’ (Tommy) Gladson of Gastonia.

To honor Steve’s wishes no memorial service will be held, but he will be memorialized in a private celebration of life with his immediate family and friends. His cremated remains, delicately placed in his Bud Man Stein, will be laid to rest with his wife Beverly at Edgewood Cemetery in Lowell, NC. (Date TBD)
