A Life Well-Lived
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Paul Vander Hey, a loving father, beloved brother, cherished friend, and shining light in the lives of those who knew him. Paul departed this world peacefully in Charlotte, North Carolina, leaving behind countless memories that will forever be treasured all across this country.
Paul was a man of remarkable character, known for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends and people who needed help. Paul’s sense of humor and warm personality brought joy and comfort to those around him, and his ability to inspire others with a song, a timely Bible verse, or a quick joke was a testament to the strength of his spirit.
Throughout his life, Paul exhibited a passion for Christ, music, sports, and a desire to make the world a better place. Whether through his work, his hobbies, or his acts of service, he touched countless lives and made an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
While words cannot fully capture the essence of who Paul was, they carry the echoes of his legacy—a legacy of love, family-first focus, and a desire to know Christ better. He will forever remain in the thoughts and prayers of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Paul Vander Hey is survived by his son Brandon who lives in Portland, Oregon and his siblings Dan & Barb Vander Hey, Julie & Paul Matthews, and Deanna & Rich Llloyd. UP (Uncle Paul) will be missed by his extended family of nephews, nieces and now grands in those categories, who will honor his memory by carrying forward the values he held dear. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
We know that Paul’s eternal home is ready to welcome him as a faithful servant and the reunion he is having with his parents (Douglas & Patricia Vander Hey) is one of celebration. Though our hearts ache with loss, we take solace in the knowledge that he is now reunited with those who have gone before him, watching over us from God’s presence.
A Celebration of Life event to celebrate Paul's life will be held at a date to be announced and shared with family and friends, providing an opportunity for loved ones to come together and honor the remarkable man he was.
Paul Vander Hey, you will forever be missed, and your memory will be held close in the hearts of all who loved you.
