Patsy Lou (McNichols) Badger

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

December 4, 1949 - March 8, 2025

 Patsy Lou McNichols Badger Bumgardner, 75, passed away March 8", 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was born 12/4/49 to the late Roy S. and Nina M. McNichols of Dallas, NC. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her late husband Barney Badger Sr, her son William Badger and her siblings Jim McNichols, Bill McNichols, Carol Moore, Nola Bingham and Frances Mc Alister. She is survived by her husband Clinton Bumgardner, her daughter Crystal Waddell (Steve), her son Barney Badger Jr. (Brooke, stepson Johnny Bumgardner (Tammy), her grandchildren Brian Waddell, Amber Waddell (Billy), Erin Christian (Seth), Chelsea Badger, Britny Combs, Tisha Bumgardner and Makenzie Bumgardner. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, Eli Badger, Aiden Christian, Willow Johnson, Ivy Johnson, Elijah Berry, Nathan Huffstetler, Brayden Haas, Neveah Haas, Addie Patterson and Bradley Patterson, Olivia Combs, Hunter Combs and Raelynn Combs. Patsy was known as Pat to everyone that didn't call her Mama or Mawmaw. She had blue eyes that sparkled with life, love and a hint of mischief. Her smile turned strangers into friends. She was always willing to listen and share your sorrows as well as your joy. She taught her family to love, laugh, forgive, help others and stand up for themselves. She also taught them to pray. As a child of God, she long ago accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and readily shared that with others. Heaven has welcomed her home, but she is already missed here very deeply. In her younger years Pat worked as a nurse. She later was employed in other fields, but she returned to caregiving and home healthcare later in life. It was clear to those that knew her that she was born to not only help others but to also show them how to help themselves. A Celebration of Life service for both Pat and Preston Bumgardner will be held on Saturday, April 05, 2025 at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church, 2810 Highland Dr., Lincolnton NC 28092. The family will be receiving friends 3:00-4:45 and the service will be at 5:00. Pastor Luke Johnson and Seth Christian.
