CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend, Matthew Chabinauth Persaud was born in Georgetown, Guyana on May 19, 1964 and departed this life on September 20th, 2021. He was the son of the late William (Matts) Persaud and Claire (Yvonne) Mungra nee Veerasammy.
As a child, Matthew attended Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School and North Georgetown Government Secondary School. In the late 1970's, Matthew migrated to the United States to settle in New York with his mother; his stepfather, David Mungra; and his siblings. In New York, he attended Aeronautics High School. Then completed high school in Virginia, where he lived with his adopted family,
the King family. After graduation, Matthew joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Louisiana. After the service, he moved to Maryland and later settled in Virginia where he raised his son, Matthew and his daughter, Serenity. In June of 2021, Matthew married the love of his life, Kelli, where they lived in Concord, North Carolina.
Matthew worked as a skilled driver at Smash My Trash in Concord N.C. He loved his job and his amazing work family.
Matthew has been called home to join his beloved and departed brothers, Frankie, Aubrey and William, as well as and his parents, Matt and Yvonne. He is survived by his two children, Matthew and Serenity; his wife, Kelli; his siblings, Cheryl, Desiree, Colin, Sandra, Diana, Theresa, Ester ,Martha Ann ,William ,Oleasa ,Billy, Sandra, Kathy and Jennifer; his stepfather, David and adopted father Robert King; his nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers and friends whom he considered family.
Matthew was a doting husband, father, son, uncle, and brother. His smile, humor, and laughter always filled the room and will always be remembered.
