John Theodore Wilson, 75, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. The Wilson Family have entrusted arrangements to Cremation Society of Charlotte.  
John Theodore Wilson died on the evening of December 20th after a lengthy Illness.  John was born February 18, 1946 in Abington Memorial Hospital, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

John attended Shoemaker Elementary School in Elkins Park, PA until 1955, when is his family relocated to Salisbury, NC.  Fond memories and a life-long attraction to the coast were made during summers spent in Stone Harbor, NJ.
He finished his elementary education in Salisbury at Frank B. John elementary, Isenberg Middle School and Boyden High School (class of '64).  He received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1968.
John began a career in textiles with summer jobs in the mid-sixties and more permanently with Fiber Industries in 1968.  His tenure with FII and Celanese included exposure to manufacturing, quality control, technical service, market development, and sales in both Salisbury and Charlotte.  In 1994 John joined FIT in Johnson City, TN to establish the sales and marketing of this "green-field," specialty fiber business.  In 2004, he formed JTW Associates consultancy as a means to transfer the wisdom the lessons learned from a robust career.  
During this time, Wilson served on industry boards and advisory councils, was a frequent speaker at industry functions, and made many life-long friendships.  He also developed a fondness for autumn trips on the Blue Ridge Parkway, fried b'loney sammitches, really bad golf on beautiful courses, poker games with players who never counted the pot, and evenings snuggled with his honey on the porch.  His most cherished accomplishments are his wonderful children and precious wife, Betty Bishop (wife of 37 years).
John lived a wonderful life with no regrets.  As a memorial, he asks that each of you visit your favorite beach, preferably at sunset, get comfortable, put in some beach music, and thank God for all His blessings.
John leaves behind four living children: Chris Wilson (wife Becky Cage); Catherine Wilson (husband Marcus Mangine); Robin Pfefferkorn (husband Paul Pfefferkorn); and Virginia Wilson (fiancé Daniel Groulx).  He also leaves four grandchildren: Jack Pfefferkorn; George Pfefferkorn; Devyn Gore; and Ivy Wilson. Also surviving are his sister Joan Holshouser of Canton, NC. A niece Margret Stiles and her children, Carli, and Jordan Stiles of Canton, NC. A nephew, H.D. Pinkston and wife Sharon and their sons, Harrison and Henry of Marietta, GA. 
A memorial service to follow at a later date due to COVID.
