Jerry Dion Brooks, 64, of Oakboro, North Carolina, passed away on March 27, 2026.

He was born in the state of Florida to Jerry Johnson Brooks and Nita Sloop Brooks.

Jerry was a welder by trade and had a passion for the outdoors, motorcycles, and being on the water. He also enjoyed racing, camping, and traveling with his partner. He found the greatest joy in his family and grandchildren. Jerry was a dedicated advocate for special needs, founding a fundraiser in 2024 that helped local families affected by autism.

He is survived by:

Partner: KatySue Tillman

Children: Joshua Brooks (Alisha), Jenna Brooks, Brittany Lambert (Justin), and Brandon Brooks

Grandchildren: DJ, Breyden, Connor, Maci, Aliana, Kinley, Chloe, Bella, Kylie, Levi, Jackson, Miles, and Norah

Great-grandchild: Bonnie

Sibling: Steve Brooks

Brothers-in-law: Lane Boggs and Shane Allen

Special person: Mickie Tillman, who he considered a father figure.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry & Nita Brooks, and brothers Malcom & Richard Brooks.

A memorial service will be held on April 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Cremation Society of Charlotte, 4300 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Channing's Joy Foundation in his honor.

May he rest in eternal peace, his spirit finally at rest.
