CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
August 12, 1977 - December 14, 2025
Jason Michael Banks, 48, was called home to his Heavenly Father on December 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.
Jason was a 1995 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. He later attended the University of Fairbanks, Alaska, and went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a degree in civil engineering.
Jason was happiest when traveling and spending time with family and friends—celebrating holidays, birthdays, and enjoying annual beach and mountain trips. He especially loved all things Christmas. He is often remembered for his quirky sense of humor and his seemingly unlimited knowledge of just about everything.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Michelle Banks; his mother, Donna Keistler Banks; his sister, Stacey Banks McDowell, and her husband Darnell; and his nieces and nephew, Colt, Landry and Lennox McDowell. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael LeRoy Banks.
A service to celebrate Jason’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 6701 Pleasant Grove Road, Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion shown by Jason’s doctors at Duke University Medical Center and the Carolina Caring hospice team.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jason’s memory to Duke Cancer Research (Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center) https://www.gifts.duke.edu.
The Banks Family have entrusted arrangements to Cremation Society of Charlotte.
