Janice Lavern Barlow, 86 passed away Friday, January 16, 2026.

Janice L. Barlow, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Janice, known to family and friends as Jan, was born in Minot, North Dakota, and was a graduate of Minot Model in Minot, ND. She cherished her time living in North Dakota and Arizona, places that held many fond memories and lifelong friendships. In 2021, Jan moved to North Carolina, where she quickly formed meaningful connections and continued her lifelong gift of making friends wherever she went.

Jan was active in her community and valued lifelong learning and service. She was a member of several organizations, including SCORE and PEO, where she enjoyed fellowship and giving back.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Harold Ennis; her beloved husband, Arden “AJ” Barlow; and her daughter, Amy Bowman.

Jan is survived by her sister, Nancy (Carl) Christensen; her daughter, Beth (Matthew) Hardy; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews, all of whom will remember her with love and gratitude.

A service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VIA Health Partners (Hospice) in Charlotte, North Carolina, or to her alma mater, Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota.

Jan will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and her remarkable ability to build lasting friendships wherever life took her.
