February 21, 1966 - May 18, 2026

We are saddened to announce the passing of James Darrin Griffith, who passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on February 21, 1966, in Charlotte, Darrin was the son of James Edward Griffith and Linda Moody Griffith.

Darrin will be remembered for his love of martial arts and for being “Uncle Bubba” to all of his nieces and nephews. He was a protector to his sisters and someone his family could always depend on. Everyone who knew Darrin looked up to him and cared for him deeply. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his father, James Edward Griffith; his sisters, Kemberly Pressley of Indian Trail and Roxann Greene and husband Blake Greene of Albemarle; his nephew Joshua McLean and wife Hannah; nieces Kinsley McLean of Mint Hill, Brittney Funderburke and husband Tyler Funderburke of Monroe, Erica Lynch and husband Nate Lynch of Whiteville, and Katelin Nealy and husband Chris Nealy of Indian Trail.

He is also survived by his great-nieces, Everly and Karsyn Funderburke and Hately Lynch; and his great-nephews, Kashton Mclean, Holden and Gavin Williams, and Elliot, Ezra, and Levi Lynch.

Darrin was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Moody Griffith, and his brother, Jeffrey Edward Griffith.

The family appreciates all thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
