CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
January 27, 1984 - February 18, 2025
Elizabeth Breza, 41 passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Elizabeth Breza (nee Gagnier) beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend passed away on February 18th after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was 41 years old.
Born on January 27, 1984 in Hawthorne, California, Liz brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone who knew her. She grew up in Phoenix, AZ where she quickly became known for her vibrant spirit, fierce loyalty, and ability to light up any room. From her childhood adventures in Hawthorne and Phoenix to building a life in North Carolina, Liz left an unforgettable mark everywhere she went.
Liz was the embodiment of a strong woman—she was a best friend, a protector, and the heart of her family. She had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and supported, always knowing exactly when to lift someone up or bring them back down to earth with her quick wit and infectious laughter. Her strength, resilience, and selflessness were unmatched and, even in the face of adversity, she remained unwavering in her love for those around her.
Above all, Liz was a devoted mother to her beloved daughters, Hailey, Mackenzie, and Cora and her son, Kyle. She fought every single day to ensure they were surrounded by love, joy, and the same strength that defined her own life. It is devastating that Liz’s battle ended on Cora’s fifth birthday, but we know she would want her daughters to carry forward her light, laughter, and unbreakable spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen, her children, Hailey, Cora, Mackenzie, and Kyle, her parents, Bruce, Patricia, Kelly and Dave, her mother-in-law, Janet, her siblings, Eric, Michele, Donald, and Bruce Jr., as well as countless family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Liz never gave up. She fought with everything she had, right until her last breath. She lived boldly, loved fiercely, and left an impact that will never fade. Though our hearts are broken, we will honor her by carrying her love forward, sharing her stories, and keeping her spirit alive.
A funeral for Liz will be held at 10:45am on Monday, February 24th, at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway in Charlotte, NC. All who loved her are welcome to join us in remembering the incredible woman she was.
Liz/ Big E/ Poopsi, you are a legend to us. You are our world and everlasting light. We will miss you every day, but your love, your laughter, and your strength will live on forever.
The Breza Family have entrusted arrangements to Cremation Society of Charlotte.
