February 23, 1937 - February 13, 2018


Donald Dean Clary, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home in Huntersville, NC. He was born on February 23, 1937 in Pontiac, MI to John and Bertha Clary. Donald grew up in southeast Missouri and was the eldest sibling to brother, Johnnie and sister, Patricia. Donald married Lana Teel, on May 15, 1973 in St. Charles, MO and was happily married to his princess for 44 years.

Donald had an amazing sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. Donald was a jack-of-all-trades and loved building things and working in his shop and yard. He had an abundance of duct tape and glue, which he used to fix items even when they were not broken.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, John Clary, mother, Bertha Clary, brother Johnnie Clary, and son by marriage Scott Martin.

Donald is survived by his wife, Lana of Stallings, NC; his sons Rick (Vickie) of O'Fallen, MO, Keith of Saint Peters, MO, Bryan of Moscow Mills, MO, and Jeffrey of Silex, MO; daughters Bobbi (Jason) Simmons of Fort Worth, TX and Serena (Dillon) Perera of Huntersville, NC; children by marriage Loren (Suzanne) Martin of Fenton, MO and Judith (Bill) Murray of Iron Station, NC; and his sister Patricia (Roger) Trudgen of Haslett, MI; In addition, he is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Hospice of Cabarrus County for their guidance, kindness, love, and support of Donald and his family during this journey. To honor Donald's wishes, the family will not hold a formal memorial service. The family will be having a celebration of his life at a date to be determined.
