Daphne Carrouth Obituary

HUNTERSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA

November 22, 1940 - February 3, 2026

Daphne Moore Carrouth, of Indian Land, passed away on February 3, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Margaret Moore, and her son, Todd Carrouth. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Rene Carrouth Minton, her two granddaughters, Kayla and Hannah; her three great‑grandchildren, Amelia, Logan, and Luke and her partner of 40 years Bobby Gesell. Born on November 22, 1940, in Indian Land, Daphne spent most of her life in the community she loved. She graduated from Phifer College and built a long career in the insurance field. She later retired early to care for her mother in her final years and was also able to lovingly support her son Todd prior to his passing. Daphne was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was happiest when hosting gatherings for family and friends—cooking, welcoming, and creating memories. She excelled at both. Her laugh was unmistakable and infectious, and she had a gift for bringing joy and energy to every room she entered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with the family who went before her. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service at this time. If you wish to make a donation in her memory, please consider The Humane Society as she sure loved her cats.
