Tom (Pop, Coach) Reynolds, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Sept. 26th. He’s happier than ever, being with Jesus and his wife, Jackie, the love of his life. There were never two people more in love.
Tom was born in Rockingham and grew up in Kannapolis. He boxed Golden and Silver Gloves, winning a medal. He joined the Naval Air Force and served proudly from 1945-1949. He was an airplane mechanic for the Berlin Airlift. Tom was co-owner of Brown/Reynolds Plumbing Contractors.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Brownie Reynolds, his wife, Jackie, 2 children, Mike (Patricia) and Andy (Debbie), and 4 siblings, Daphne Hale, Richard (Busty), Bobby, and Toots Irving Rory.
He is survived by 3 children, Jill (Chuck) Holmes, Jeff, and Pat (Karen) Reynolds, 2 siblings, Carolyn Critz and Dan, and 17 grand & great grandchildren.
He loved being with his family, coaching youth sports, serving his country and others. Tom was a long-time member of Cole Memorial UMC and then Oak Grove UMC.
Visitation will be at Oak Grove UMC on Saturday, Oct 9th at 11AM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice Novant Health, 130 Mocksville Ave, Salisbury NC 28144 or Oak Grove UMC, 6440 Statesville Rd, Charlotte, NC 28269.
The Reynolds Family have entrusted arrangements to Cremation Society of Charlotte.
