Christopher Shea, 65, died suddenly on August 3, 2022, in Charlotte. He was born on March 27,1957 in New York City to Daniel Shea Jr. and Helen Dillon Shea. He grew up in Queens Village and New Hyde Park. Young Chris was a good athlete, notably surfing and lacrosse.
After high school, Chris joined the Coast Guard and was a Seamanship Instructor at the USGC Training Center and a Seamanship Instructor at the International Search and Rescue School at Governors Island, NYC. Chris founded and operated the AA-All Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning company in New York. Thereafter, he moved his family to Crestview FL, where he worked at the local airport and other gigs. Finally he moved to Charlotte NC, where he became a successful car salesman.
Chris loved his family, and he became a keeper of family stories that he loved to share. He was a loyal and true friend. His favorite thing to do was cook up great meals for family and friends. He excelled at making people laugh. He loved both of his beloved cats, Bean and Latte. He was adopted later in life by the Morris Clan, and he loved them fiercely, and they loved him.
He enjoyed the beach, music, and playing keyboards. He could grow any kind of plant, and he was always surrounded by green, growing things.
Chris is survived by his daughter, Amanda Shea of Crystal River, FL and brother Daniel Shea III (Carol) of Charlotte. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Thomas, Peter, and Stephen Shea and Mary Ellen Mayer. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
