Charles Richard Leyton

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA 

November 13, 1947 - January 25, 2026

Charles “Charlie” Leyton passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in the Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late William and Leah Leyton.

Charlie graduated from the University of Rochester in 1969 and began a long and dedicated career in corporate banking with the former First National Bank of Boston, now Bank of America. Over the years, he also worked at several banks throughout New England.

Charlie and his wife, Jan (Page), shared nearly 53 years of marriage. They raised their family in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, before moving to the Charlotte, NC area in 2009. He is survived by Jan; his son Steve (Terri) of Harrisburg, NC; his son Jeff (Shannon) of Thornton, PA; and his beloved grandchildren Kelsey, Tyler, and Bridget, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Honoring his wishes, Charlie will be cremated, and his family will scatter his ashes at his favorite vacation spots. There will be no services.

The Leyton Family have entrusted arrangements to Cremation Society of Charlotte.
