CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

May 9, 1939 - July 12, 2021

Barbara Anderberg Barnes, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by her four treasured daughters, on July 12, 2021.  She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 9, 1939, to the late Carl A. Anderberg and Bertha H. Anderberg.  

She is survived by her four loving daughters Virginia "Vickie" (Ricardo) Barnes-Salas of Tucson, AZ, Janet (Steve) Jones of Oak Island, NC, Diane (Jerry) Burch of Tucson, AZ, Nancy (Malcolm) Hananian of Sausalito, CA;  one dear granddaughter Ana Salas; and her most cherished dog "Charlotte".   Special remembrance to honorary daughter, Liz Fisher.

Barbara lived some of the happiest years of her life in the close-knit Plaza-Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte, NC.   Well known for her ability to converse on a diverse range of topics, she could always make time to stop for a neighborly chat, while walking her beloved Charlotte.   A beautiful woman, inside and out, she was loved and admired greatly for her thoughtful, generous spirit and countless acts of kindness.  She best expressed her considerable artistic talent through her exquisite hand-crafted designs and stunning garden.  
She has asked all those who knew her to honor her by performing an act of kindness in her memory.   A memorial will be planned in August for all who wish to celebrate her well-lived life.
