Rudy Allen Bryant

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

MARCH 21, 1950 - JULY 12, 2018

Rudy Allen Bryant was born on March 21, 1950, to John Allen Bryant and Maggie Lean Bellamy in Tabor City, North Carolina.  Rudy received his formal  education at Douglas High School in Tabor City, NC. 

Rudy accepted Christ as his savior at Tabor City Baptist Church at the age of 19. On November 20, 1981, Rudy was united in holy matrimony with Terri Dianne Jones in Queens, New York.  Their union was blessed with 2 children. 

Rudy was employed by Wayne-Westland Community School as a custodian for 25 years. In his leisure, Rudy enjoyed shooting pool.  He was also a collector of many things such as miniature cars, The Little Rascals  memorabilia, and especially TV’s.

Rudy would make a friend anywhere he would go.  He was a very funny and outgoing person. He loved to tease and joke with everyone.  He had a giving heart and he especially loved to spoil his grandchildren.  His grandson would say, “Papa was the greatest Papa in the whole world.” 

Rudy Allen Bryant departed this life on July 12, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father, John Allen Bryant and his sister, Rachel Spicer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Terri D. Bryant; daughter, Ebonee Nicole Bryant-Lindsay (Jonathan); son, Rudy Allen Bryant II (India); grandchildren, Tristen Jonathan, Kalena Na’vea, and Orion Alexander; mother, Maggie Lean Bryant; sisters & brothers, Johnny, Phyllis (Rawle Cadogan), Kim (Paula), and Casey; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Bryant will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Greater Providence Baptist Church, 2000 Milton Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28215.
