Charolette "Marini" Ann Emile, 71, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018.
Celebrating the life of Charlotte (Marini) Ann Emile. Affectionately known as Marini or Doc Marini, passed on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Marini was born in the city of jazz, New Orleans, to loving parents on September 24, 1947, accompanied by her identical twin. She graduated from Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA. She continued her higher education at UCLA.
Love was a theme throughout Marini’s life. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Byron Martin Leavell.
Marini accepted Christ at an early age, and rededicated her life to Christ on November 1, 2015 as a member of Mosaic Church.
Doc Marini is the founder of the Butterfly Concept, a nonprofit organization established to raise consciousness and educate people, especially African Americans, on how to practice self-love and healing through natural medicine. Doc Marini was a certified massage therapist, initially specializing in Shiatsu, later adding other therapeutic practices.
Marini’s personal hobbies were cooking, going to the sauna and spa, dance, and creating her “own fashion”.
Marini was preceded in death by her mother and father Doris Rose Toca and Louis Emile. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Byron Martin Leavell (wife Victoria Leavell). Grandchildren: Jalyssa Shalana Leavell, Byron Martin Leavell Jr., AJ Hunt. Great Grandchildren: Kaylee and Dakota Hunt;Sisters and brothers: her twin Charon Marie Wright (husband Harold Wright), and twins Daphne Calmes and Belton Calmes, and youngest set of twins Deadra Calmes and Deidra Calmes; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Ms. Emile will be held at 10:00 AM, Sunday, November 18, 2018, in the chapel at Boston's Mortuary 4300 Statesville Road, Charlotte,North Carolina 28269.
